i had this post about how i do things, but i don’t really do THINGS often

You will wake up.

You will stare at the wall.

You will wonder how this day could possibly be any different from the day before.

You find your wheelchair.

You get up.

You do your exercises and stretches.

You spend too long doing too little work.

You nap.

You play with your kids.

You laugh at bad jokes.

You read stories and give sloppy kisses good-night.

You write a story.  For the first time. For a different reason.

You head to bed.

You can start to feel a whole new sense of pride.

You’ll face a new day tomorrow.

You are so inspiring to me and so many others…I have been following you since your stroke, but this is my first time commenting. I’m always struck by how “normal” you seem in your posts but I know they don’t always convey the struggles…thanks for sharing.

    Hi Anissa,
This is the first time I’ve commented. I’ve been thinking about you and your family ever since your stroke, and I’m so glad and amazed at your progress! Keeping you in my prayers.

Anissa…you are simply amazing………I think of you often…even though I only met you once, at the Boston Aiminglo convention, and i won the notebook…you were so full of vim and vigor…and you were super sarcastically funny…… i knew that i was in the presence of a strong woman… I feel fortunate I have met “the Anissa”….
    god bless ya….
