Today I entered a place of work.
It’s one of those places most will be lucky to never see. In fact, you may pass a place like it every day and you don’t even know it. Because it can be quiet and unexpected, most people would never guess that its the kind of place where someone could change their life.
People walk in, they limp in, they roll in, they are pushed in.
They make their way in with many different intentions.
Some are there because work or insurance says they owe so much time. Some leave so much better than they arrived. Some came from far away. Some are there because they were injured slightly or majorly. Some come straight from the hospital. Some have waited years to get there. Some understand the meaning of the words “best in the country”.
Many know it’s their best hope.
Their only hope.
Some have given up before they ever get through the doors for the first time.
Some never give up even when they are told to.
It’s where you learn to work. You may think you’ve worked before.
But if you’re going to go further, do better, be louder, JUST BE MORE…you’re going to have to work like you never thought you would work before.
It’ll be worth it.
It always is.
Don’t forget, no matter what, Y-O-U are worth it.

Having an autistic son who has needed all sorts of therapies (including physical) I notice those places a lot more now. It’s kind of an awareness of that whole world.
