Back when I was in the hospital I had an occupational therapist named Nicole.
Nicole taped me up, she electrocuted me, gave me tests made I’m pretty sure were meant for llamas.
She also taught me to dress myself with one hand.
She was instrumental in teaching me it was ok to laugh again.
Recently, we had Nicole come for dinner.
It was fabulous.
And when she left she left behind instructions.
Instructions to build a piece of equipment that would help me stand up straight and start building up my stamina.
Tonight Peter finished making it.
I can’t wait for him to get the belts and cushions in.
I can’t wait to try it out for real next time.
I can’t wait to tell Nicole that we got it.
I can’t wait for the day I get to tell Nicole I don’t need it anymore.
