Today we tried something new.
It was a day of clenched nerves and deep apprehension.
I was going to get in the pool at our local YMCA, something I’d practiced for a long time ago.
Time and kids got in the way, we never felt the time was right.
A few months ago my right leg would only stay under the water with a weight on my foot. I could only make my way around the pool with the help of weights, floats, anchors….STUFF.
Today I was slowly lowering myself into the water with Peter’s help.
WALKING down the steps.
Pushing my foot straight, my knee forward.
Never easily done.
Taking a step.
Take another.
Without the weights. Without the floats. Without all the assistance we thought I would need to get into the pool.
With the kids laughing, we left.
I was exhausted.
Drained.
Too pooped to pop.
Triumphant.

OMG, this is so EXCITING! Way to go Anissa!

Yay! Such a big accomplishment, you must be so happy. Congratulations and looking forward to hearing about your next accomplishment.
Congratulations! This is a great achievement for the whole family.
AWESOME news! Water therapy is SO good far all of your body, and since it’s low impact I love it. Also? If your kids can swim while you’re doing it, fun for all – great news!
