the line blurs

Part of me has had to come back to life.

There was the trip to Florida and being with people I’d only ever seen whole and healthy.

Then I came home to the scramble and excitement that can only happen when you’re heart’s on the line.

Both left me drained.

Both left me exhilarated.

It seems strange to compare the two, but they both had an impact on me that was totally unexpected.

These people gave me strength when I needed it most.

I felt their presence in every part of every day.

They changed me in ways that were utterly unpredictable.

They were part of the reason I fought.  I fought hard.  I continue to fight.

Who am I talking about?

There’s no difference anymore.

Had the family together (with much effort and travel and white knuckle driving on icy roads) including Mom for Thanksgiving. It’s the first time Mom has traveled since her stroke 2 years ago. And it was heaven to be together. Heaven heaven heaven this is what heaven must feel like. And I sense the same experience for the Mayhew family.

Wow! This feeling must be amazing– a very, very hard path to “personal growth”(I get stabby when my pain and challenges are referred to as “personal growth”, but I can’t think of anything better, dammit!), but you are doing it. The best part is that we are all coming with you on the ride– and maybe, just maybe (even me) will grow a little or a lot. You taught me, Nissa, strokes are not a choice; but what you do with your life is a choice. That, my friend, is without price.
    Now for that Lifetime movie…
