if you have lived through the tragedy that is a stroke – yourself or someone you deeply love – I think you, like me, would do much to keep anyone, anyone, from living through it. My dear blogging friend Nichole lost her own mother-in-law to stroke this summer, and I would have spared her family that, if I could have. So I took a trashy, tacky, outrageously ridiculous joke gift my mother gave me, and I am trying to turn it into something far more than I ever dreamed it could be.
That’s how Project:Purse and Boots was born.
Then she told me that the drive behind this “PURSE OF WONDER” was the work that goes to The American Heart Association, to teach people the danger and how to protect themselves from strokes.
How could I say “NO?”
How could I, a person who’s seen her entire life changed by the effects of strokes, not get behind these women and their mission to educate and party on!
I was supposed to have a party with the purse this weekend, but with sleepovers, 10yo birthdays, art shows. friends from Twitter, trips from Iraq and more….the party was no more.
So I hope with the participation of friends and loved ones we can still make Pursey’s time here worth it!
Otherwise she’s been hogging the remote for nothing!
