Santa should leave me a laptop of my own because I have 2 school-issue laptops which are good for work but not very good for doing things like plotting world domination and looking at “sites which are deemed in appropriate” like Facebook and lolcatz. *breathe* I use my husband’s laptop, mostly, but I get booted off when he has to write a 10-papers on basketball and square dancing (PE major). PRIORITIES – doesn’t he know that I have to do important things like play on The Twitter and gaze longingly at the MacBook I wish I had? That’s Santa, I’m talking about, not the husband.

We’re in Australia for Christmas (first time ever we’ve been away from home!). We’ve saved for 5 yrs for this trip so all I ask of Santa is that we all ENJOY it – no bickering or kids getting on each others nerves. Just super happy memories.

Santa is giving me Christmas Day off! I am really grateful for that as I worked a double shift on Thanksgiving.
We’re Jewish, so Santa won’t come near our place (nor would he have a tree under which to leave a gift), but the one thing I want most this year is my cousin. I even put her on my wish list–well, a ticket to get her out here to visit.
I haven’t seen her in a few years now and I miss her like crazy. She’s in FL and I’m in the Pacific NW. She’s never seen snow and we have an abundance of it, so it could be a win-win situation for all of us. I get my cousin and she gets to see snow.

Ironically, the $5 card is the same thing I got from KMart the year I worked there. Yes, folks, I got a $5 gift card (back then I think they were actual certificates) TO KMART from Kmart. Even when I was making $3.35 per hour, that felt kinda chintzy. But I have to thank Kmart for making me decide to go to college. So there’s that.

I asked for a new recliner sofa since my son’s dog broke both ends of the one that I have so it no longer reclines unless you sit on the floor and yank out the foot part and about kill yourself. Since that’s not going to happen, I will be happy with pretty much anything. I doubt I’ll get anything. They didn’t even remember to say happy birthday to me. At least they won’t forget it’s Christmas.
