more surgery on my eye

I felt like my eye all screwed up.

The ophthalmologist at Emory agreed, and began the never-ending “SAGA OF THE ZOMBIE EYE“.

I went to the doc to talk about the eye tremor.

The doctor ran some tests, looked at this, poked at that.

Dr J ended up doing the initial zombie-eye surgery to take care of eye lashes that had been resting on my eyeball. It worked. The angels sang.

Enter doctor 2.

This doctor was recommended because it was thought that the double vision could be helped, if not fixed. He would do a surgery that would move my eyeball from the corner to the center of my eye socket. It worked.  My eyeball moved. My vision improved. The angels danced.

Enter Doctor 3.

his was a neurologist that specialized in movement disorders. FOR REAL. His whole job was dealing with shakes, vibrations and tremors. He looked me up and down, over and backward. He then told me that I didn’t actually have an eye tremor. I had a rare ocular-palatal tremor that he’d like to try treating with a medication.

(It’s got a very complicated name that sound like “Yo Gabba Gabba”)

People, it’s working. My vision is improving. The angels are busting a move and break dancing.

I went back to see Doctor 1. The origanal doctor because the second surgery didn’t heal correctly and now there’s surplus skin. I can’t see the results of surgery 2 because the flap of skin.

after surgery 1

after surgery 2

*sigh*

So, I could have had the surgery in two weeks but the prospect of having THAT at BlogHer was not appealing.

So when I get back, I’ll be having the 3rd surgery on my eye to remove the excess skin from my eye.

But until I have the surgery I will be glases-less because I see worse WITH them as my vision improves. But I can’t see great. So if I look at you all crazy in NYC we’ll blame it on my eye.

Not the fact that my roommates are Robin, Leila and JC.

Well, crap! I won’t be there, but Chloe and Anne will be there without me. Promise me you won’t stop loving me, or start liking them lots more better, because they came and I couldn’t.

Have a blast, but take one brief moment and miss me.

Yo Gabba Gabba eh? I’ll have to get hubbie to look into that. He was born with a crooked eye, at 2yrs his parents had his eyeball moved and so on and so forth. Now if he only uses 1 bad eye to look at something, everything shakes. If he’s wanting to concentrate on something you know like a girl walking by in a bikini? he’s totally only using his good eye and his head makes it very obvious.

OOOOhhhhh I’m so jealous and was just wodnering if you would just, you know, out of the kindness of your heart, please surrender your ticket to New York for dear, sweet me. Thanks. If not, I will still love you, but just not like you for a second…..:) Seriously, have a blast. I can’t complain really. I have been sans kids for going on 3 weeks. I could have already gone to NY, and danced the go-go on Regis and Kelly, and come back……Sheesh….poor planning on my part.
