I unplugged for a bit this weekend.
The emails built up and there was a TON of stuff I could have been doing.
I did the absolute necessary and left everything else.
It helped that my mobile connection to the world went wonky but it was also good to just spend time with my people.
I spent time with the family in preparation for massive amounts of busy with the NonCon happening this week.
I knew I would have to ignore them when I shouldn’t, ask them to pitch in for something they don’t quite understand.
Two worlds will collide this weekend in a big way.
They are used to the goofy, dorky mom they see every day. They don’t comprehend that someone they see on TV is my friend and will be there. There might be people who treat me a bit differently. In a good way.
We went to Target today and people moved around me. They didn’t make eye-contact. They tried not to talk to me.
It doesn’t offend us. We’re just used to it. The kids are used to this.
It will be an experience for them to see me as something other than the person that does stuff on the computer and takes trips.
I’m bringing it to them.
I hope it’s good for them too.
