Spring 2009 my good friend Janet and I were passing napkins at a conference.
From those napkins were the birth of Aiming Low.
A few months before my strokes we talked about a conference that would be about the days we wrote because we felt compelled to create, not because we thought we’d get free stuff; a conference about the friendships made on hotel floors, the hallway conversations, missing something scheduled because you were getting filled by the conversation you were busy having.
Then my brain exploded.
It took a while for the dust to start settling.
Years after the first thoughts, months after the first “we could still”, weeks after weeks of helping hand the dream is just days from becoming reality.
The NonCon is about to happen.
The knock-out lineup of Roundtable Leaders.
I’m excited about all the possibilities. I’m nervous about all that could be disappointing and for whom.
As the day comes closer and I’m bombarded by multiple needs, this one truth stands out. I’m lucky to have this event. This conference, its attendees, the speakers, the sponsors, the people who have helped me plan and execute this ARE ALL A MIRACLE.
I hope that they know that for these days and this event, they are making MY miracle.
