About Anissa
Erma Bombeck said something that pretty much defines my approach to life.... "When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and I could say, "I used everything you gave me." If you switch the word TALENT for LOVE or LAUGHTER or HAPPINESS....it still stands.

I wear mine because I have self-diagnosed glaucoma. The light doesn’t bother me, but it saves on Visine and having the cops always bothering me.

“I can’t really cover up the wheelchair.” Profound sentence and thought. I think you look very bad-ass with your sunglasses. Major cool vibe going there. This post made me think of a) Corey Hart — I am of the age that I knew he spelled Corey with an “e” without googling it, and b) my father’s funeral. One of my childhood friend’s mother came up to speak with me at my father’s funeral and she had on big sunglasses. She alluded that she was too emotion to talk — which she proceeded to do a lot. I’m sitting here at my dad’s funeral thinking that this woman is wearing sunglasses because she must have just gotten her eyes done. You are awesome.

Anissa, I can’t imagine trying to mess with my hair and take care of bangs with one hand. It’s kind of a PITA with two hands. You do what makes you feel best regarding the sunglasses. Have you considered a ball cap or maybe a wide brimmed hat at night so you wouldn’t have to deal with the loss of light? I sure don’t know, but I’m thinking with you in your chair it would shield the upper half of your face from those curious stares???
