Now, I won’t lie and tell you that I don’t appreciate when a post resonates with a reader in a way that makes you feel the need to take time out of your busy life and leave a comment.

I do.

It thrills me to the little tips of my soul.

But I never write with that in mind.

There are places I write where I will use the tricks of the trade to encourage commenting, but I get asked to do that.  It makes it part of my job.

This is my place. Never my job.

I used to be worried if my comments seemed down.

Not so much anymore.

I have better things to worry about.

So do you.

So I’m really not spazzed out when another blogger gets hundreds of comments and I only get one.

First off, I could never respond to everyone and I would feel terribly guilty.

Secondly, I only want you to comment if a post really matters to you.

C) That one comment matters just as much as the ninety-ninth. Maybe more.

If you’re not getting the comments on your blog you’d like, please don’t stress.

Remember why you stsarted writing in the first place.

I hope it wasn’t to get comments.

I’m a dork.

I once tripped on a set of stairs and got a GIGANTIC bruise, but kept going.

Did I mention the bruise was ON.MY.FACE.

Then there was the time a spider landed on my leg while I was driving. And I drove into the ditch.

There was that once that I was wearing a long dress for an event and I got my shoe tangled in the hem.

I’m awesome.

So yes, I laugh whenever I get the email asking for advice from “big deal blogger”.

Or someone refers to me in that way.

You have never met less of a big deal than me.

Recently I had dinner with a friend WHO IS sort of a big deal.

But the next night I had dinner with lots of THEM and they were a big deal too.

Every person I’ve been lucky enough to meet, to talk to, to tweet, to trip over, is a bonus in my life.

I feel lucky they let me blog.

They probably shouldn’t let me tweet.

If I get to have a little bit of YOU in my world, THANK YOU.

You are a big deal.

Not the one they are using to name their new blog. (you have no idea how close it came to “PieMouth”)

I could tell you the name but they want to wait til it’s ready. The name?? PERFECT!

Don’t judge me for what I admit.

It was amazing to see the new team of writers all come together.

It felt good to have that rush of accomplishment again.

Having brilliant minds come together for a common purpose.

Staring at the blank slate.

Wondering if I really wanted that challenge.

Feeling myself soar when I was able to meet that challenge head-on.

When have I ever taken the easy route?

Knowing what was a really cool thing little more than a year ago, became a hurdle of epic proportions a month ago.

Now?

Sitting in my wheelchair, handicaps and disabilities forgotten as I see that hurdle shrinking every day.
