I’m out west speaking at a conference called BlogWorld.

My last trip for this year.

So feel free to look in the medicine cabinet and under the bed.

BUT JUST LIKE THAT! (I was so gangsta’)

In the past there have been sporty little cars and behemoth SUV’s.

Of course, now there is a minivan that I ride in, but can’t drive.

Pete was at a store when he saw a woman in a wheelchair come out to her car.

The woman transferred because her legs were obviously affected.

With the wheelchair seated by the driver’s side door, Pete prepared to go help (cause he’s Pete).

THEN.

What he’d thought was a luggage rack on top of her car moved over, lowered, strapped to the wheelchair, then lifted the chair to the roof of her car and secure it.

She drove away.

ALONE.

BY HERSELF.

INDEPENDENTLY.

I have a goal of getting the double-vision to stop (it’s hugely improved) and if I can learn to type with the wrong hand then car controls will be no big deal.

I’m going drive myself again.

You watch.

I will.

It was a conference I always enjoy in a city I love with people I adore doing stuff we agree to never talk about.

Unfortunately, most at this conference didn’t know there was a reason I hid away for this weekend.

The morning we drove to Asheville I had to have Botox injections in my leg/arm.

Which meant about the time I was supposed to be full of YEAH I was actually full of OWWWW.

So, if there was any time I was saying hello to you and you were thinking, “WOW! She’s much bitchier in person.” please know it’s Robin Plemmon’s fault because they stabbed me needles and shoved my muscles full of drugs full of drugs JUST BEFORE we got all Boom Boom Pow.

There were wonderful people to see, the Aiming Low patio party where we did __________, laughs to share, moments to store away forever, friendships to start and ones to strengthen.

I always refuse to link to anyone because i would hate to forget all of the people who made the trip so unforgettable.

But in case you wondering, I’m totally talking about you.

Pete said this other day when we were talking about a lot of things that needed SOMETHING.

I have this site and Aiming Low that I’m building up.

25 writers I love talking to each day.

We’re organizing events at BlogHer and TypeAParent.

The freelance thing I do.

I’m building another site with Faiqa and Janet.

There’s meetings to build up the business-side of things.

I’m always mom to the three most fascinating people EVER.

I’m married to the one guy who makes a world with no coffee worth….well….no one could make THAT work, but he IS pretty cool.

Dr Pain.

Electrifying myself.

Making things that don’t want to still have to.

Then there’s the book I agreed to write.

Speaking at conferences and travel.

Sometimes I miss those naps. And stay up too late. Try to squeeze a few more minutes into my day.

And I’m tired.

I have to remind myself that my body can’t take constant pressure.

It can’t handle the reckless speed I used to throw myself into everything.

I have to be more careful.

I have to be selfish.

It starts with naps.

I will own them again.
